This crowd-pleaser of a film, sees a late-night talk show host (Emma Thompson) fear that she may soon be losing her long-running show, as she loses her grip on cultural relevance.
Legendary late-night talk show host Katherine Newbury's (Thompson) world is turned upside down when she hires her only female staff writer (Mindy Kaling – who also wrote this film). Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision has unexpectedly hilarious consequences as the two women separated by culture and generation are united by their love of a biting punchline. Smart, timely, and brought to life by a terrific cast, ‘Late Night’ is a workplace comedy with a lot of heart - and just as many laughs.
